Welcome aboard the TSJ CruisePod - your journey beyond the waves.

I’m your host, Thomas Sebastian Jensen, though most people simply call me Sebastian.

I’m excited to welcome you to the very first episode of this new podcast, where we’ll travel together from port to port, exploring the beauty, the culture, and the stories of our world at sea.

About Me

A little bit about myself.

I was born in Kiel, a coastal city on Germany’s Baltic Sea - a place where the sound of seagulls and the sight of ships were part of everyday life.

Maybe that’s where my love for the ocean began.

After completing my studies in Computer Science and Spanish at Kiel University, I moved south to Pforzheim in 2013, where I’ve been working as a software engineer ever since.

Technology has always fascinated me - how it connects people, how it helps us create, and how it can even accompany us on adventures like this one.

But alongside that passion for coding, I’ve always had another: travel.

The joy of discovering new places, meeting people from different cultures, and finding inspiration in the unknown.

In 2023, I fulfilled a lifelong dream by joining the MSC Poesia on a four-month world cruise.
It was an experience that changed me - not just because of the places I saw, but because of the people I met and the moments that reminded me how vast and beautiful our world truly is.
That journey became the foundation for my book “Cabin 9030 - My Home for Four Month”, where I captured those memories, stories, and reflections from life at sea.

Now, in 2024, another great adventure has begun — this time aboard the MSC Euribia.

From the winter harbors of Northern Europe to the warmth of the Canary Islands and beyond, each port has its own character, its own rhythm, and its own story to tell.

About the Journey

Over the next episodes, I’ll take you along as we sail through some of the most fascinating destinations of this voyage.

We’ll begin in Bruges, Belgium, then continue on to Rotterdam, Le Havre, and Santiago de Compostela in Spain.

From there, we’ll explore Cádiz, Rabat, and the islands of Madeira, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and Tenerife.

Finally, we’ll make our way north again — to Lisbon and then to Southampton, our last stop on this memorable route.

Each episode will focus on one destination — combining a bit of local history and culture with personal impressions, small discoveries, and a few travel tips you can use if you ever decide to visit yourself.

Whether you’re listening at home, commuting, or dreaming of your next cruise, my hope is that this podcast gives you a small taste of the world that awaits beyond the horizon.
